The Requirements

While digital media sales experience is not required, you will need a genuine interest in digital media and the growing digital landscape. Quick question for you - click here In addition, to be a strong fit for the Multimedia Account Executive opportunity you will have:
  • A track record of success in consultative, solutions-oriented sales, with demonstrated understanding of needs-based selling
  • Experience with:
    • Prospecting
    • Building and managing a pipeline
    • Conducting needs analysis
    • Developing solutions and writing proposals
    • Presenting proposals and closing deals
  • Proven success increasing sales in a competitive marketplace
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Experience using a leading CRM / sales management application, ideally salesforce.com
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred

This is an outside role so you will need a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. You may travel overnight, but only occasionally.

The Role

Your mission will be to grow new and existing business by representing the NOLA Media Group's total audience solutions product suite and by ensuring that campaigns are properly implemented, monitored and optimized. You'll meet with clients through a consultative needs-based selling approach to create custom digital and print advertising campaigns that exceed customer expectations. The product suite includes graphical display ads on NOLA.com and ad networks, mobile, video, text, apps, digital directories, search engine marketing, search engine optimization, social media optimization and print.

You'll need to focus on establishing yourself as a true partner who can help customers solve problems and achieve goals. You can channel your aggressive energy into prospecting -- you may start with a small book of business, but success will depend on a diligent approach to pounding the pavement and knocking on doors.

Because of the consultative nature of the approach, sales cycles are longer and closing on the first call is never a goal. You'll need to do a thorough needs analysis, taking into account the target audience, the customer's goals and the project budget, and then create an ad campaign that uses the right mix of our products.

Your specific activities will include:
  • Proactively identifying new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, marketing, referrals and lead databases 
  • Exceeding established revenue goals
  • Ensuring campaigns are optimized
  • Maintaining and optimizing campaigns and renewing or up-selling
  • Serving as a marketing consultant by providing industry insights through up-to-date knowledge of industry trends
  • Building relationships / partnerships through networking
